Give Afghan Women a Voice in February.

Afghan Women’s Writing Project (AWWP) empowers Afghan women to have a voice in the world despite a deteriorating security situation.

AWWP is sponsoring a series of Living Room Chat fundraisers around Valentine’s Day to build a bridge of support for the women and their newly opened AWWP Writers’ Hut. AWWP writers gather in this sanctuary, in an undisclosed location in Kabul, to share community and the written word. Sounds a lot like a book group, doesn’t it?

Another great event for the Afghan Women's Writing Project.

AWWP, in conjunction with Theatre J, present OUT OF SILENCE -- a theatrical reading of essays and poems written by Afghan women.

International Women's Day is March 8, celebrating the economic, political and social global achievements of women past, present and future.

So on March 8, Hollywood Unites celebrates International Women's Day with Out of the Silence: Readings from The Afghan Women's Writing Project.
