That's really funny - hopefully it won't be a real conversation in the future!
Thank you Barbara! Interesting book club discussion is on the menu!
this one sounds adorable. I think I'll have to pick it up for my niece.
That is CUTE! And it totally sounds like something I'd love reading to my kids! Thanks!
Oh, and thanks for visiting Proud Book Nerd! :-)
Huahahaha a very funny teaser. I love it
I loved this one!! The monkey is hilarious! :D I bet it gets kinda a boring going "No, it's a book." for ten times in a row... Poor monkey.
What a charming teaser! This book sounds delightful.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
I bet that your grandchildren enjoy the book. It does seem like everything is going online these days.
Thanks for visiting me.
I wonder if there ARE children who know how to read a webpage before they've turned their first book page?
Aww, how sweet! It does make you wonder how the little ones view technology...
Nice blog...nice and neat and very well organized. Love your header.

I tried his book, Loaded, but didn't care for it. Too much graphic sex. The subject matter of this one is more suited to what I like.
oh wow what a teaser that is! this book sounds like it could be from just about any suburban neighborhood from around the world. we've all had moments when we've looked at someone else's child, whether a neighbor, a person in the grocery store or a restaurant and thought 'that child just needs some discipline;' - perhaps not a slap, i don't know yet the circumstances behind the slap but oh gosh i'd love to win this book and share it with my book club and blog friends and readers! thank you for sharing such a fantastic read with us!
Sounds very thought provoking. I hadn't heard of it before. I agree that it seems fitting for a group to read. Thanks for visiting my teaser yesterday!
I want to read this one but agree sounds like a great debate discussion for a book club. Another blogger wrote a review on it today.
Some kids need a good smack on their rear end but slapping is never okay.
Thanks for coming by! No need to enter me.
I've picked up a couple of books from the long-list for my book pile, but didn't quite fancy The Slap.
Your teaser has changed my mind. It sounds interesting.
My teaser here: Time Traveler's Wife
Who in this world hasn't wanted to discipline someone else's child? My grandmother used to tell me how her whole neighborhood would discipline each others children or at the very least tell her parents if she was misbehaving. Teachers today are afraid to hug a student for dear of being accused of something.
I could go on but agree this sure would make for a great book club discussion.

This book sounds like a book that I would hate, and that would make me mad, and, therefore, it would be an excellent book for a group discussion.
This sounds like a great book for a book club. A great discussion I would think. I could see our book club reading this one. There I am sure would be a heated conversation.
I work at Walgreen's and there are plenty of situations that I see how parents treat their children and discipline them. If there is discipline at all.

I can totally picture it.
Sounds like a really great book, thought-provoking.
'I was born on the second day of Jewish New Year. When I discovered that Yaffa, the third daughter of our Syrian neighbors, was born during Hanukkah, I assumed that children were born on holy days - as a special gift from God. When I realized that my sister, who is older than me by one year and eight months, was born in January and I could find no holy day in her vicinity, I became very worried and afraid that she was damaged.'

That's a great teaser. I wonder if they ever get to talk to Melaine about it all.
