Hi!
Sounds like a great book. Also sounds a lot like my sisters and I. Have a great day!

Just Books
According to the quiz, my soulmate is Mr. Martin! Mr. Knightley is really my style -- I don't know what happened in the quiz. Thanks!
I really liked this version of Emma as well. I certainly think the character of Emma is more true to Jane Austen's heroine than the Gwyneth Paltrow version. My dream man of Emma's world (according to the quiz anyway) is Mr. Knightley. However my favorite Austen hero would be Colonel Brandon from Sense and Sensibility. What about you?
Hester sounds good. I think I read The Scarlet Letter sophomore year in high school. I might have to re-read, lol.
One of my favorite twists was in Atonement and that was definitely one of my all time favorite books.
I can't wait to read Shutter Island. I have not read any of his books, but did see Mystic River which I loved. Maybe someone in my book club will pick it. I love reading a book and seeing the movie as part of book club as it adds another point of discussion.
Shutter Island and The Double Bind are now going on my Wish List.
You can see my BTT HERE
I was just thinking about Shutter Island again because I see that they have made a movie of it. The end of the book made me wonder if I am perceiving the world correctly!
I loved this book--I also love the twist at the end of Fingersmith which our Book Club is reading this year and also The Crimson Petal and the White ! I tried to get my club to read this but--it's def a LOOOONG one !!! If you have a lot of time on your hands and not too many books sitting on your must read shelf--then go for it !!!! Melanie
You picked Shutter Island as well! I've seen The Double Bind listed several places today...looks like I'll have to see about that one.
I soooo want to read that book after the EW feature on it last week. Are you enjoying it?
Sound like it could be a sad read.
Love the cover and title of "Cottage for sale, must be moved"!
I'm dying to read Bloodroot! I just learned about it today too!
One day I will read Brideshead Revisited. Thanks for the drive-by!

I have her other two books. Great tease. I see
we both have joined the Nancy Drew challenge.

Thanks, Denise. yes, amazing characters including the actual setting of the story -- her books has such a sense of place.
Joyce, What a good idea for your juniors. Adriana loves to speak with readers -- maybe your juniors would like to have a phonechat with her. Thank you for your comments.
Suzanne, I can't figure out which one of hers is my favorite -- I like them all! Thanks
